I am sure you have seen the news this morning relating to a coach crash in Surrey close to the new Hindhead Tunnel. The incident occurred late last night and crews from Grayshott were mobilised as part of the initial attendance. Given the number of casualties and location of the incident, Surrey Police announced this was a “major incident”. This automatically enacts pre planned arrangements for the emergency services, local authority and health agencies. Presently the A3 remains closed whilst the investigation proceeds and fatalities are extricated. Crews from Grayshott have now withdrawn and at present there are no Hampshire resources committed to the scene, however, we have offered Surrey Fire and Rescue Service any assistance we can both operationally and managerial as this is a significant incident.
