WE have had a big problem with mud on our roads recently. A new wheelwash is being installed within days at the site off Fox Lane Eversley, that will help a little but Cllr Collett and I have been chasing up on other areas as well.
Below is an answer from County Enforcement
I’ve asked Highways to have a look at the area, and they are hoping to be out there today. I am a little unsure how the problem is spreading to Cricket Hill lane, as I would have thought that outgoing vehicles have travelled too far to still be tracking mud, and as far as I am aware most of the inbound vehicles have travelled up the motorway so again any tracking should have stopped. If the lorries are continually dropping mud/material, this would seem to indicate a greater problem with the lorries not being sheeted rather than the wheels themselves, and Highways will be looking at this. I will contact Inerts to confirm whether there are any local jobs which could be causing the problem and which we could look into.
I will update you further when I have heard back from Highways.
