A Planning application was put into Hampshire to allow the mixing of compost and sand on this site and was considered at its Regulatory committee today, Wednesday 7th Oct. Parish Chairman Cllr Philip Todd spoke explaining it would mean HGVs of twice the current size on local roads, according to the report.

I spoke and took the other mathematical view, of the report, and said the number of HGVs would be double that illustrated. I asked if Highways were aware that the Village Hall had stopped up access onto the B3272 because of safety concerns or if they knew the roundabout at the junction with the A30 had damage near the drain due to the extra vehicles being directed around it.

This was not known yet the B3272 was considered a safe route for the extra vehicles. Nor had a Traffic Impact Assessment been done showing how these extra vehicles would interact with the new Eversley Sports Association grounds.

Eventually because of the confusing figures, they were corrected at the meeting in two places, the decision was deferred for further and better particulars.
