Due to the adverse weather no waste and recycling collections were carried out on either Thursday 2nd or Friday 3rd December. Available staff were reallocated on snow clearance works in accordance with the priorities set out in the Council’s snow plan.

Black bin collections

It is intended that collections will resume on Monday 6^th December when the Council will be collecting black bins only for those missed on Thursday 2nd,  Friday 3rd and those due for collection on Monday 6th December.

Blue bin, glass or garden waste collections

Blue bin, glass or garden waste collections due on Monday 6^th December will not be collected. These will be emptied on their next scheduled collection day when any excess will be taken.

Also any blue bin, glass or garden waste collections missed last week on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd, will not be emptied until the next scheduled collection day when any excess will be taken.

Additional staff and vehicles are being deployed to help catch up with the backlog, and if all goes to plan it is hoped that normal collections, including recycling collections for those due collections will resume on Tuesday 7^th December.
